Mystery Peru

Welcome to Mystery Peru – your gateway to extraordinary Peruvian experiences! I am Enrique Levano, the founder of Mystery Peru, and I am thrilled to share the captivating story of our journey with you.
Embarking on this adventure in 1998, I found my true passion as a tour guide.
Since then, I have woven my expertise with diverse travel companies, leading groups across the breathtaking landscapes of Peru.
Having accompanied travelers from every corner of the globe – Australians, English, Canadians, Italians, and Americans – I have had the privilege of showcasing the unparalleled beauty of Peru, spanning from its coastal wonders to the majestic Andes and the enchanting Amazon rainforest.
In 2004, driven by an unwavering passion and a deep reservoir of experience, I embarked on a new venture: establishing Mystery Peru.
Today, after years of dedicated exploration, I proudly offer people around the globe an array of exclusive travel experiences that range from brief sojourns along the Peruvian coastline to expansive odysseys delving deep into the heart of our diverse country.
I invite you to partake in journeys that transcend the ordinary.

We don’t usually write reviews but this tour company was just outstanding. From the moment we got off the plane to when they took us back to the airport everything went so smoothly we can’t fault them in anyway. Even their price was extremely competitive. They tailor made a tour for us to our requirements.
Our driver was punctual, great with our kids and had better English than our Spanish. We felt like guests rather than just another family on a tour.
The restaurants recommended were some of the best we went to in S.A.
The hotel accommodation while supposedly 3 star were some of the best 3 star hotels we stayed in.
The most outstanding service came after we left Peru and our daughter lost her Nasca lines souvenir bracelet.
The owner Enrique went to the trouble of buying a couple of replacement bracelets and posting them to us in Australia.
We were prepared to pay for the bracelets and postage but he sent them as a gift.
What really makes this company different is the personal touch, and the little extra things they did for us such as recommending a visit to the fountain park in Lima after we had finished our city tour as they knew the children would like it.
We highly recommend Mystery Peru tour company for anyone traveling in Peru, especially if you are traveling with children.

EXCELLENT EXPERIENCE!!
This hands down was one of the most incredible tour companies I have ever used and I have traveled many places in the world! I booked a last minute trip to Peru to surprise my daughter to take her on her dream vacation as a gift for her grade 12 graduation. We were feeling more comfortable to travel since the beginning of the pandemic. I also knew that a trip to Peru coming all the way from Canada with so many places we wanted to see was going to be difficult to organize on my own. My sister used this company 11 years ago for her Peru trip and told me to check them out. This company did not disappoint!!!!
The owner Enrique was incredible at answering my many questions about the different tours I was interested in and made me feel comfortable with trusting them to take us out to show us their awesome country!
I booked the 5 day Best of Cusco Tour with a private driver and private guide…..i’m still honestly speechless on how amazing, kind, informative, caring, fun, and how safe we felt with Augusto the best guide you could ask for! It meant everything to us traveling as a mother and daughter to feel safe and cared for genuinely by him for the 5 days we were together. His knowledge on all of our site locations, helping us to check into our hotels, our flight back to Lima, to get on the train for Machu Picchu, taking photos for us together, teaching us about his culture and foods, where to eat each day, etc.. made our trip an unforgettable one! We absolutely adored Augusto and highly recommend you ask for him as your tour guide for any of Mystery Perus adventures! Our driver kept us super safe and on time for everything our daily schedule had to offer! Thanks so much!
I also booked the full day Ballestas Islands & Huacachina/Oasis tour and the half day City Tour of Lima with Mystery Peru. These were both out of Lima and picked us up at our hotel in Miraflores. Again, I cant say enough on how kind and informative our private guide/driver Hernan was. He looked after us on our tours while in Lima but also to take us to the airport and pick us up from the airport. A true gentleman and made us feel welcome and safe! Both of these tours I highly recommend as well! Especially the crazy fun dune buggy ride and the sand boarding experience! So fun!
Thank you so much again Enrique at Mystery Peru for helping us to organize this trip of a lifetime! We will be back to continue our journey through Peru to finish off the things we didn’t get to do and will be requesting Augusto and Hernan again in the near future!

I booked a two-day tour to the Colca Canyon from Arequipa, which includes an overnight stay in Chivay.
The whole experience was fantastic. Obviously the canyon is 100% worth visiting, but booking with Enrique and Mystery Peru made it even better.
I found them through staying at the Nazca Lodge (owned by Enrique) and booking my Nazca Lines flight through them, so I knew they were great to work with already.
Their Colca package is all-inclusive and I noticed how relaxing and convenient it was to have all my meals, lodging, and even hot springs entry fee already covered. Other members of my tour group who had booked through different agencies paid a comparable price that did not include all those perks.

We found this company on TripAdvisor when our attempts to book a last-minute tour of Peru through our usual channels fell through.
Owner Enrique went above and beyond to look after us both before and on our 16-day Highlights of Peru tour. We had a packed itinerary and saw everything we wanted. And Enrique was “with” us every bit of the way.
One nice touch was always knowing the name of our next contact at the airport, station, or hotel.
Showed real attention to detail as well as recognizing that travel is ultimately about people.
We had super guides for every leg – personable and knowledgeable – and a couple of them stood out above the already high level.
In particular, we toured Cusco, the Sacred Valley, and Machu Picchu with Christian, who was so passionate about the subject – and I’m sure had a direct channel to the Incas. The accommodation was super clean, comfortable, and convenient. We couldn’t recommend it more.

We have just returned from the most memorable holiday in Peru.
We wrote to Enrique Levano (the owner) in May this year with sites and places we wanted to see (of which there were many) and he mapped out an itinerary for us.
I read alot of reviews about various tour companies but stopped when I came across Mystery Peru.
Our holiday was faultless from the first day we were met at the airport to our departure on the 1 October.
The knowledge of each tour guide was commendable.
Most had excellent mastery of the English language to the extent they would tease us and tell the funniest of stories and jokes.
Of course we had our favourite guides and drivers with Hernan and Neelos (excuse spelling) at the top of the list giving us an amazing time at Paracas and the Nazca Lines.
These two treated us like family, especially when I piked out of flying at the last minute and sobbed like a baby (previous accident in a helicopter) whilst my husband took the flight. I offered Hernan or Neelos the flight instead but both had just eaten a full breakfast!.
I was prepared to lose the airfare but Hernan, after consoling me with hugs, managed to get a partial refund.
The praise and respect I have for these two people is endless.
Of course Machu Picchu is everyones highlight. Mystery Peru kept me well occupied and safe for three days with tours andtransfers whilst my husband hiked the Inca trail (4d/3n).
He left the hotel room at 4am the morning of the trek and I had no communication with him until we rendezvou’d at MP and have to say I was anxious for him as he was twice the age of the other 6 hikers.
Enrique had organised for Geoff to trek with Llama Path with Flavio as the guide.
Geoff had totally bonded with the group when I saw them together and it was with a heavy heart when he bade them farewell.
The 10 porters were the fittest men Geoff had ever seen, and were well worth the hefty tip each one of them received from the group with the cook receiving double as the food was 5-star and in copious quantities. Not one hiker fell ill which is a testament to the good hygiene practices llama Path maintains.
We chose hotels that were 3-star (Peru standard) mainly because we literally only slept there. The standard varied according to ‘remoteness’.
All rooms were clean and well maintained and well supported by luggage porters to assist especially when the altitude slowed us down a bit.
We only experienced one hiccup when we were reallocated to a different hotel by the local agency operating in the area. We were told by that agency’s guide that Enrique knew of this which I knew to be incorrect because he had only spoken to us the night before in Arequipa.
I was disappointed and informed Mystery Peru staff. We received a very apologetic phone call from Enrique for the sequence of events and as we had thought he was not aware of the changes.
Although it was not his fault, he wanted to make amends and gave us a fabulous complementary dinner in Cusco and lunch at MP at Sanctuary Lodge (wow) following our private tour which he also arranged for us instead of the group tour.
I could go on and on about Enrique and his team and the memories they have left us with.
If, like us, a trip to Peru is on your Bucket List, then you must get in touch with Enrique, owner of Mystery Peru and say Sue and Geoff sent you.
