Cancellation Policy:
If you wish to cancel your reservation, the request must be submitted to us in writing.
Please take into account that payments for flights, some train services, and Machu Picchu bookings are non-refundable due to airline and operator policies.
All other reservations canceled less than 45 days prior to the arrival date of the tour are subject to the following cancellation fees:

Cancellations made with 22 – 45 days’ notice: 40% charge.
Cancellations made with 9-21 days’ notice: 75% charge.

Non-Refundable Services:
In the event of cancellation, it’s important to be aware that specific services, including domestic flight tickets, the train to Machu Picchu, and Machu Picchu entrance fees, are subject to penalties imposed by the airlines and tour operators.
If such penalties are applicable, we will deduct the corresponding amount from your payment to cover these expenses.
We will transparently communicate the deducted amount and provide a breakdown of the penalties incurred.

In the unlikely event that we have to cancel a trip due to unforeseen circumstances, you will be offered an alternative trip of similar value.
If the alternative trip is not acceptable to you, a full refund of all payments made will be provided.

LIMA
Lima is a large city of almost 10 million people that live in 43 districts.
It is located about 100 meters above sea level, just 12° south of the equator, overlooking the Pacific Ocean.
UPON ARRIVAL AT THE LIMA AIRPORT:
The Jorge Chávez International Airport in Lima is located in the district of Callao, 7 miles (11 km) from the center of Lima and about 14 miles (22 km) from the most important districts, such as Miraflores, San Isidro, and Barranco.
All visitors to Peru will be given an Andean immigration card on arrival at the Lima international airport, which must be presented before leaving the country. So do not lose this document.
Based on local tax laws, Peruvian citizens must pay an additional fee of 18%.
To be exempt from this 18% additional fee (IGV), a copy of the immigration card and passport must be presented.
Both documents are required for fee exemption. Guests who are not able to show both papers will be required to pay the fee.

SEASON AND CLOTHING
Summer: December to April.
Average temperatures: 19 – 23 degrees Celsius.
Appropriate clothing: Summer clothes, a bathing suit in case you visit the beach and sandals.

Autumn: May to June.
Average temperatures: 16 – 21 degrees Celsius.

Winter: June to October.
Average temperatures: 15 – 18 degrees Celsius. Lima, being a desert city never experiences proper rain.
Rather, it undergoes some drizzle, especially during winter time.
Appropriate clothing: Clothes for layering, a jumper, scarf, and comfortable shoes.
In Lima, tennis shoes are fine in winter.
Don’t forget; A warm coat for night-time.

Spring: November.
Average temperatures: 16 – 21 degrees Celsius.

PARACAS
Paracas is located some 250 kilometers south of Lima, 3 hours away by bus following the Pan-American Highway.
It is a beautiful bay, very popular for its beaches, spectacular views, and amazing marine life.
Paracas is a launch point for the Ballestas Islands, home to dolphins, sea lions, pelicans, and Humboldt penguins.
There are impressive rock formations, such as the Cathedral, which, while it was severely affected by the earthquake of August 2007, still offers a unique geological landscape.
The natural beauty of Paracas is complemented by a good range of restaurants, and beaches, such as La Mina, Mendieta, and Lagunillas, where visitors can camp and fish.

Weather
Over the course of the year, the temperature typically varies from 56°F to 81°F and is rarely below 51°F or above 84°F.

Summer
Sunny almost all year round, with high temperatures during summer time from December to April, exceeding the 30°C. Nights are cool.

It rarely rains in Paracas; however, it gets very windy during wintertime, especially in August.
This peculiar wind sometimes may reach 60 km per hour.

Taking a boat tour to the Ballestas Islands?
Please bring; Sunscreen, and a hat (Marine birds sometimes drop their droppings around the islands, so you better carry a hat)
Comfortable clothes, like jeans and T-shirts.
Bring a windbreaker, as it gets very windy once the boat gets in motion.

ICA – HUACACHINA
The city of Ica is located 303 kilometers south of Lima, 4½ hours away by bus following the Pan-American-Highway.
The Ica Valley is very popular for its gorgeous sand dunes and for the Oasis Huacachina, a wonderfull lagoon amid huge white dunes.
Ica is also very popular for its delicious sweets such as chocotejas, good Pisco (Perú’s national beverage – A grape brandy) and wine.
Ica’s valleys are full of a variety of grapes and grape traditions, which is why Ica is well known for its winery and pisco tours.
You can learn about the now and then making of process and storage of pisco and wine because many of the wineries still feature vine processing techniques from colonial times.

ALTITUDE: 406 meters above sea level.

NAZCA
Nazca is a nice desert town to the south of Lima; its vast plateau is home to the world-famous Nazca Lines, huge images etched on a stony desert.
The images on the ground represent gigantic animals, such as fish, felines, birds, insects, plants, human forms and hundreds of straight lines.
Today Nazca is considered A MUST tourist destination in Peru.
The Nazca Valley offers not only lines but amazing underground, centuries old, large cities with amazing pyramids, bizarre ancient graveyards and more.
The city of Nazca is located 445 kilometers south of Lima, 6 hours away by bus following the Pan-American-Highway.

It is 2 hours away from the town of Ica.
Since Nazca is located near to the desert, the weather is dry and sunny, has a little rain, known as the city of the eternal summer.

Are you flying over the Nazca Lines?
Bring comfortable clothes, a short or jeans and a t-shirt will be perfect. It is a bit hot inside the airplane.
It is advisable not to have breakfast before the flight. Bring a big zoom for your camera.
One final consideration is that to give both sides of the plane a fair look at the Lines; pilots will be performing much steep banking, rolling the aircraft from side to side.
Some tourists experience severe airsickness so make sure to take preventative measures or medication beforehand.

AREQUIPA
Arequipa is located in the southwestern part of the country and is the second biggest city of Peru, with a population of almost one million.
It is also the capital of the department of Arequipa, 663.8 miles (1,068km) from Lima.
The city sits at an altitude of 2,325 meters above sea level in a mountainous desert in the western Andes, at the foot of El Misti volcano.

Altitude: 2,335 meters above sea level.
Population: 1,320,000 inhabotants.

Weather
Arequipa offers sunshine and blue sky almost every day.
It is mostly dry in winter, autumn and spring because of its cool desert climate and lack of precipitation.
It also has more than 300 days of sunshine a year on average.
Throughout the year, temperatures rarely exceed 25 °C (77 °F) and rarely drop below 5 °C (41 °F).
The “rainy” season lasts from December to March and is marked by the presence of a few clouds in the afternoon and low rainfall.

Summer
Appropriate clothing: Arequipa is cold during the morning, even in summertime, so wear pants and a jacket just in
case. Light clothes during the day time like a t-shirt, shorts, and tennis shoes are perfect.

PUNO
Puno is a city in southern Peru on Lake Titicaca, one of South America’s largest lakes and the world’s highest navigable body of water.
A regional trading hub, the city’s also considered Peru’s “folkloric capital,” owing to its traditional festivals featuring vibrant music and dancing mainly during summer time.
Landmarks include the Andean baroque-style Puno Cathedral and the Yavari, a 19th-century steamship (now bed and breakfast).

Altitude: 3,850 meters above sea level.
Population: Over a million inhabitants.

Weather
The altitude at which Puno is located gives it extreme weather conditions. Temperatures average 15°C year round.
During winter months from June to August, nights can get particularly cold with temperatures dropping well below
0C. At this altitude sun rays are very strong, it is strongly recommended to bring sun block to avoid burning.

Summer
Appropriate clothing: Puno will be the coldest destination during your trip due to its high location.

CUSCO
Cusco, a city in the Peruvian Andes, was once capital of the Inca Empire, and is now known for its archaeological remains and Spanish colonial architecture.

Visiting Machu Picchu?
If you are planning a visit to Machu Picchu you need to make sure you pack all the essentials.
Going unprepared could easily turn your trip from an incredible experience into a nightmare, particularly if you don’t have much experience hiking.
Bring a small backpack. Remember to invest in a rain cover for your backpack, as most aren’t waterproof.

FREQUENT ASKED QUESTIONS
Do People speak English in Peru?
Many people working in hotels or restaurants will speak pretty good English.
Most people will know the necessary words or phrases, but many will only speak Spanish.
Having a basic grasp of common phrases, numbers, etc. is recommended.

Do I need to tip?
Most restaurants have an automatic 10% gratuity on the bill, look for the word “propina If they do not, it is customary to add 10%.

Is Peru dangerous?

Most people travel in Peru without taking Malaria medication and have no problems.
The side effects of Malaria medication can be discomforting.
If you decide not to take medication make sure to take all sensible precautions to protect yourself from mosquito bites.
The Amazon Basin and Brazilian border regions have a higher Malaria rate.
The risk is yours to opt in or out of, but always consult your doctor before taking any medications.
