Here, wild vicuñas and alpacas roam freely across the vast altiplano. The drive continues past stunning landscapes until we reach Viscachani for a warm coca tea and dramatic mountain views. Then, we ascend to the Andes Viewpoint at 4,800 meters, where you’ll admire snowcapped volcanoes like Misti, Chachani, Sabancaya, and Ampato.
Arrival in Chivay, Villages, and Hot Springs
Descending into the Colca Valley, we arrive at Chivay around midday and enjoy lunch at a local Andean restaurant with live folk music. Along the way, we make photo stops and explore pre-Inca tombs and test platforms carved into rock. At the viewpoint, spend over an hour watching Andean condors soar gracefully over one of the world’s deepest canyons.
Cultural Stops and Return to Arequipa
After enjoying the condors, we return to Chivay, passing Andean villages rich in culture and history. At midday, we stop for a buffet lunch at a local restaurant before beginning the scenic ride back to Arequipa. We’ll retrace our route across the volcanic altiplano and vicuña reserve, arriving in the city around 5:00 p.m. Upon arrival, we transfer you back to your hotel. End of the tour.
