As we leave the city, we head toward the highlands, stopping briefly for snacks and coca leaves before entering the Aguada Blanca National Reserve. Here, wild vicuñas and alpacas roam freely across the vast altiplano. The drive continues past stunning landscapes until we reach Viscachani for a warm coca tea and dramatic mountain views. Then, we ascend to the Andes Viewpoint at 4,800 meters, where you’ll admire snowcapped volcanoes like Misti, Chachani, Sabancaya, and Ampato.
Arrival in Chivay, Villages, and Hot Springs
Descending into the Colca Valley, we arrive at Chivay around midday and enjoy lunch at a local Andean restaurant with live folk music.
