Starting prices by trip length

The fastest way to size a budget is to start from a published itinerary and adjust it. These are the starting prices of the current packages, in US dollars as charged, with an approximate conversion at the Bank of Canada rate of 1.4145 CAD per USD (September 25, 2026).

Your quote confirms the price per person for your exact party and hotel category, so treat these figures as the entry point, not the final number.

Why length is not the only driver

Divide those starting prices by the number of days and every itinerary lands between about USD 180 and 265 per day, roughly 250 to 375 CAD. The spread comes from what each day contains, not from the number of nights alone.

Inca Amazon has the highest price per day, about USD 265, and is the shortest itinerary that includes Tambopata in the Amazon. Exploring Peru and Andean Discovery sit at the low end, about USD 180 per day, and both cover long legs by road, such as the overnight bus from Arequipa to Nazca in Exploring Peru or the road journey to Puno in Andean Discovery. Trips of the same length also differ: Andean Discovery and Mystic Peru both last 10 days and start USD 200 apart. The package pages do not break the price down, so ask for that detail in your quote.

Machu Picchu: train, bus, ticket and guide

Machu Picchu combines four separate costs: the train to Aguas Calientes, the bus up to the citadel, the entrance ticket and the guide. Our Machu Picchu full day tour from Cusco bundles all four for USD 395 per person (about 559 CAD), with hotel pickup in Cusco, a Vistadome train both ways and an English speaking guide. It does not include Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu Mountain, which need their own tickets.

Entrance fees rose in 2026. Since May 1, 2026, a foreign adult pays S/ 163, a base fee of S/ 152 plus a new S/ 11 charge for foreign visitors. Reduced base rates apply to foreign students (S/ 77) and children aged 3 to 17 (S/ 70). Tickets are sold officially on tuboleto.cultura.pe. The full day tour includes the ticket. The packages include a private guided visit of the citadel, so check that the ticket appears among the inclusions of your quote. The Nazca Lines flight and its fees

The Nazca flight is the item where extra fees are easiest to miss, because what the price includes depends on where you take off. From Nazca, the 35 minute flight costs USD 100 per person (about 141 CAD) in a five passenger plane, with hotel pickup, an English speaking guide and a map. On top of that you pay S/ 77 per person at the aerodrome before boarding: an airport fee of S/ 30 and the Boleto Turístico of S/ 47.

From Pisco, the scenic flight tour costs USD 350 (about 495 CAD). It is a 2 hour outing with pickup at your hotel in Paracas and the transfer to Pisco airport, and the tour page lists the airport tax (USD 5.50) and the tourist ticket (USD 13) as extras. The full day tour from Lima costs USD 550 (about 778 CAD) and includes private transport from Lima to Pisco, the flight in a Cessna Caravan with a guaranteed window seat, and the airport and tourist fees. Global Affairs Canada describes Pisco as the closest airport to Lima for these flights and the safest option, and advises using a certified operator. • From Pisco, with pickup in Paracas: USD 350 plus USD 18.50 in fees.
• Day trip from Lima via Pisco: USD 550, fees included.
• From Cusco, 2 days: USD 235 (about 332 CAD), with an overnight VIP bus to Nazca, the flight and the airport fees. The tour ends in Nazca.
• From Arequipa, 2 days: USD 175 (about 248 CAD), with an overnight VIP bus to Nazca, a 35 minute flight and local taxes. The tour ends in Nazca.

Hotels, trains, domestic flights and overland legs

Hotels are a large part of any package price. Each package page names the hotels used on the route, and asking for a different category in Lima, Cusco or elsewhere changes the quote. If you are undecided, ask for the price with the listed hotels and with the alternative you have in mind.

Transport follows the route. Every itinerary that visits Machu Picchu includes the train to Aguas Calientes. Several packages fly from Lima to Cusco, or to Puerto Maldonado for the Amazon. Mystic Peru flies from Lima to Juliaca, the airport for Puno, and from Cusco back to Lima, and the Moche Route Tour flies from Lima to Chiclayo. Other legs use overnight buses, for example from Nazca to Cusco in Peru Adventure or from Nazca to Arequipa in Peru Express. Replacing a bus with a flight changes the quote.

What is usually included and what is not

Read each tour page and your quote for the details. In general, what you book covers services on the ground in Peru, while international travel and personal spending stay with you.

• Included in most tours: hotel pickup, the listed transport, a guide and the entrance tickets named on the tour page.
• Included in the Machu Picchu full day tour: Vistadome train, bus to the citadel, entrance ticket and guide.
• Not included: international flights from Canada.
• Not included: travel insurance. Global Affairs Canada recommends a policy that covers medical evacuation.
• Not included: the S/ 77 Nazca aerodrome fees when you fly from Nazca itself, and the USD 18.50 in fees for the flight from Pisco.
• Usually not included: meals, drinks and tips, as the tour pages state.
• Not included: Huayna Picchu and Machu Picchu Mountain.
• Check your itinerary: in the Moche Route Tour, the final night in Lima is not included.

Shorter excursions let you fill a free day or extend a stay without changing the whole trip. These are per person prices in USD, with approximate CAD.

Paying from Canada and adjusting your budget

Mystery Peru charges in US dollars, by card through Izipay or by bank transfer. The site can show prices in Canadian dollars for reference, but your bank converts at its own rate, which may differ from the Bank of Canada figure used in this guide. Packages are quoted on request: send the form with your number of travellers and date, by email or WhatsApp. The quote comes back on the same channel, and the team then sends a payment link for the agreed amount.

In Peru, the currency is the sol. US dollars are widely accepted and cards are less common outside the large cities, so carry some cash for small purchases in Nazca, Puno or the Sacred Valley.

• Travel with more people: the vehicle and guide are shared, so the price per person falls.
• Pick the hotel category that matters to you and stay simpler elsewhere.
• Choose shorter routes: Best of Cusco covers the essentials in 7 days.
• Keep overland legs where you are comfortable with them, and fly only where it saves real time.
• Fly over the Nazca Lines from Nazca rather than Pisco if the route already passes through Nazca.
• Leave the Amazon for another trip if Tambopata is not a priority.
