Humboldt Penguins are rare in tropical zones like Peru, yet they thrive in Paracas. Their unique adaptation to warm climates and distinctive markings make them a captivating sight along Paracas’ rocky shores. Protected within Paracas National Reserve, they represent the region’s remarkable biodiversity.
The ancient Paracas Culture flourished in the coastal deserts of Peru around 500 BC. In 1926, remarkable burial sites containing extraordinarily fine and colorful textiles, as well as the famous deformed skulls of the Paracas people, were discovered, revealing the sophistication of this ancient civilization. Visitors can learn more at the Julio C. Tello Museum, located inside the Paracas National Reserve.

“We had a great time on our one day trip. The guide spoke perfect English, told us many things about Peru, was very kind and not too intrusive. We also had an amazing lunch in Paracas which was included in the price of the excursion.”
