Day 1: Bus Ride from Cusco to the City of Nazca
Your adventure begins in the late afternoon with hotel pick-up at 16:00 h in the city of Cusco. We will transfer you to the bus station, where you’ll board the Cruzero VIP service by Cruz del Sur at 17:00 h, one of Peru’s most trusted and comfortable bus companies. At around 08:00 h, you’ll arrive in the city of Nazca, where a representative from our team will meet you at the bus station and take you to our office. Here, you can safely store your luggage and enjoy a moment to relax before your flight.
Before heading to the airfield, you’ll watch an introductory video about the Nazca Lines, covering the main archaeological theories and possible meanings behind these massive desert geoglyphs. You’ll also receive a Nazca Lines map to help identify each figure during the flight.
Soon after, you’ll be transferred to the Nazca airfield to begin your 35-minute flight over one of the most intriguing UNESCO World Heritage Sites in South America. From the sky, you’ll spot perfectly shaped figures such as the Monkey, Hummingbird, Condor, Spider, Whale, and the enigmatic trapezoids and straight lines that stretch for miles across the desert floor. These ancient geoglyphs, some over 2,000 years old, remain one of archaeology’s greatest mysteries.
After landing, our team will take you back to the office, where your tour concludes.
