Direct flights from Canada to Peru and the tours to pair with them

Yes, there are direct flights from Canada to Peru, but only from Toronto and Montreal. Air Canada runs seasonal winter flights to Lima, and Air Transat launched nonstop service on the same two routes in December 2023. Either way, the flight takes about eight hours. Travellers from Vancouver, Calgary and the rest of the West connect along the way, and everyone lands in Lima, which is exactly where our Lima, Paracas and Nazca tours begin.

Direct flights Canada to Peru: which airlines fly to Lima

Two Canadian airlines offer nonstop service to Jorge Chávez International Airport in Lima:

• Air Canada: a winter route from Toronto (YYZ) and Montreal (YUL). It flies roughly from late October or early December to late March, depending on the season, and pauses over the Canadian summer.
• Air Transat: nonstop flights from Toronto and Montreal on an Airbus A321LR, launched in December 2023 and announced as a year-round service, with two weekly flights from Toronto and one from Montreal at launch.

That is the full list. Neither airline flies nonstop to Lima from Vancouver, Calgary, Ottawa or any other Canadian city, so every direct option starts in Ontario or Quebec.

Toronto to Lima flight: schedules and arrival times

For winter 2025 to 2026, Air Canada published this Toronto schedule:

• AC 86: leaves Toronto at 22:10 and lands in Lima at 06:10 the next morning, on Tuesdays and Fridays.
• AC 87: leaves Lima at 08:00 and reaches Toronto at 15:55, on Thursdays and Sundays.

For winter 2026 to 2027, Air Canada has announced that Toronto to Lima resumes on October 24, 2026, and grows from two to three weekly flights. Air Transat, for its part, was reported to add a third weekly Toronto flight in summer 2026, from June 21 to September 6: TS152 leaves at 23:00 and lands at 06:00, and TS153 leaves Lima at 08:00 and lands in Toronto at 16:55. Timings change from season to season, so always confirm the exact days when you book.

The pattern is easy to remember: you fly overnight, land in Lima around sunrise, and fly home on a morning departure. In the Canadian winter, Toronto and Lima share the same clock, so there is no jet lag to speak of.

Montreal to Lima flight: a later landing

Montreal works differently. Air Canada's winter 2025 to 2026 schedule looked like this:

• AC 88: leaves Montreal at 18:00 and lands in Lima at 02:15, on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
• AC 89: leaves Lima at 08:00 and reaches Montreal at 16:20, also on Wednesdays and Saturdays.

The Montreal route resumes on October 25, 2026, also with three weekly flights. That 02:15 arrival is the detail to plan around: you will want a private driver waiting at the airport and a hotel room ready for the middle of the night, so you can sleep through the morning instead of waiting for the standard afternoon check-in.

Flying from Vancouver or Calgary

From Western Canada you will need at least one connection. Most travellers either fly east to Toronto or Montreal and pick up the nonstop, or take a one-stop itinerary through a US hub. Both work well, and the Toronto or Montreal option keeps you on Canadian carriers all the way to Lima. Compare total travel times for your dates before you book.

Keep the time difference in mind. British Columbia moved to permanent Pacific time (UTC-7) in March 2026, so Lima stays two hours ahead of Vancouver all year. Our advice for a long travel day: plan nothing on arrival except a transfer, a meal and an early night.

Your first day in Lima: tours that fit an early landing

After eight hours in the air, the best first day is a short one. Here is how we usually pace it for Canadian guests:

• Landing at 06:10 from Toronto: check in, rest through the day, and join the Lima Tour By Night, which picks you up at your hotel at 17:30. It lasts about 4 hours and starts from USD 75 per person.
• Landing at 02:15 from Montreal: sleep in, have a slow lunch and keep the afternoon free. The next morning, the City Tour of Lima starts with a 09:00 hotel pickup and lasts about 4 hours, from USD 69 per person.
• Arriving from the West after a connection: keep day one free and start touring on day two.

One firm rule: do not book the Nazca Lines on the day you land. The full-day trip starts before dawn, and you will enjoy it far more after a proper night's sleep.

Day two and beyond: Nazca, Paracas and the southern coast

Once you have slept, the desert south of Lima is the natural next step, and the dry, sunny coast is at its warmest during the Canadian winter, exactly when Air Canada flies. Some of the options we arrange most often:

If you prefer to stay on the ground at night, the Nazca Lines From Lima By Bus uses Cruz del Sur's overnight service: pickup at 21:00, arrival in Nazca at 06:30 and back in Lima by 22:00 the next day, from USD 275 per person. Your last day: plan around the 08:00 departure

Return flights to Toronto and Montreal leave Lima at about 08:00, which means an early start at the airport on departure day. In practice, your last full day in Peru is the day before, so plan it with care:

• Schedule the long Nazca day two days before departure, not the day before, so a delay caused by morning fog never puts your flight at risk.
• On your final day, stay close to Lima. A half day on the City Tour of Lima or an evening on the Lima Tour By Night is ideal.
• Choose a hotel near your transfer route and have your driver booked for the early run to the airport.
